A Virginia county prosecutor has recused himself from actress Rose McGowan's upcoming trial for felony possession of a controlled substance, citing conflict of interest. Prince William County Commonwealth's Attorney Paul Ebert tells WTOP-FM that Loudoun County Commonwealth's Attorney Jim Plowman asked him to take over the case, as McGowan's attorney represents him in a federal civil rights case.

A site on the border of Fairfax and Loudoun counties along Metro's Silver Line is among the locations Virginia officials are pushing as part of their pitch to lure Amazon's second headquarters. The Loudoun-Fairfax site would put Amazon in the heart of the largest data center market in the world, said Buddy Rizer, Loudoun County's economic development director in a statement.

Major changes are coming to a regularly congested part of Virginia Route 7, and to plans to revamp Ashburn-area commutes, if the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors approves two recommendations Thursday night. On Route 7, the board is set to back a plan to spend about $26 million to widen the road to three lanes each way all the way from Virginia Route 9 to the Dulles Greenway.
